Alison OlsenGlobal strategies for HIV Prevention welcomes Alison Olsen, our new Program Director. Alison comes to us with great enthusiasm for ensuring that our programs meet the needs of women and children suffering from the HIV epidemic. She brings a strong background in biology having graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Neuroscience and having taught science in an inner-city high school in northern California. Her previous experience in organizing and developing infrastructure for small businesses and teaching high school biology will bring skill sets that are needed to move our programs forward.

Alison will oversee the training and education programs, workshops, Save a Life program and essential supporting programs of Global Strategies. She will also work closely with Jenny Allen Brooks, Director of our newest program Hope Walks, meeting the needs of orphans and vulnerable children www.HopeWalks.org. We welcome Alison and look forward to the impact that she will have on our ability to fulfill our mission.

Our mission is to implement international strategies to prevent HIV infection and care for those affected by HIV by means of strategic alliances with those who share in a compassion for alleviating the suffering of women and children.

Alison Olsen can be reached at Alison.Olsen@GlobalStrategies.org or 415-451-1814.

For those of you who have worked closely with Bridget Nolan, our previous Director of International Programs, she leaves for France to study French as she plans the next phase of her career focusing on issues related to refugees and women in central Africa, with a particular interest in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Join me in thanking Bridget for the essential role she had in Global Strategies and for the over four years of dedication and enthusiasm that she brought to Global Strategies.
