Global Strategies congratulates Dr. Eric Goosby for his nomination to the Biden Coronavirus Task Force. Dr. Goosby, who served on the Global Strategies Board of Directors from 2014-16, previously held the role of Global AIDS Coordinator under President Barack Obama.  He is a professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine.

In his role serving as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator, Ambassador Goosby oversaw implementation of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), as well as U.S. Government engagement with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

During his tenure on the Global Strategies’ Board, Ambassador Goosby contributed his leadership and global expertise to our HIV Prevention and Care programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

With the staggering challenges facing the United States and the world, due to Covid-19, we are comforted to know that Dr. Goosby’s voice is a part of the solution. As a Task Force member, Ambassador Goosby will work with state and local officials to craft public health and economic policies, addressing the virus including racial and ethnic disparities.

Global Strategies gives us a lot of equipment and teaching materials to train us on how to better care for our patients.
